Seattle Seahawks to hire John Fox, Dan Quinn to coach the team

The Seattle Seahawks will soon have a new’s Adam Schefter reported Wednesday that former Seattle Seahawks head coach John Fox will be joining the coaching staff.

The 49ers, who have fired Jim Harbaugh, are reportedly on Fox’s list of candidates, and Fox has previously been linked to the team.

Fox, who coached the 49ers from 2009-13, was the Seahawks head coaches quarterbacks and tight ends in 2012 and 2013.

The news came as a surprise to fans.

Fox was widely considered the favorite to win the job, and rumors of a coaching change were widespread, but there was no confirmation that Fox would be named head coach of the Seahawks.

The Seahawks are also working to re-sign cornerback Chris Culliver.

The team recently announced the hiring of new defensive coordinator and former NFL offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who previously coached with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seattle Seahawks are scheduled to host the Oakland Raiders on Thursday.
