A little over two weeks after the release of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” the directorial debut of Disney-owned Lucasfilm, the studio is preparing to unveil a new, $1-billion movie about the first film trilogy in the Star Wars universe.

Disney says the film will be the “largest and most ambitious theatrical adventure ever made,” and it has a clear strategy.

But it is not going to break the bank, or even close the gap on the first two “Star Trek” films.
Disney and Lucasfilm have had some major budget problems, with “Rogue One” and “The Force Awakens” both showing less than they would have liked.
They’re both on track to finish production on their movies, and it’s hard to imagine the production teams in those movies ever going away.
The first film was produced by 20th Century Fox, which is owned by Disney.
But “Rogue one” and the “Force Awakens” were made by a production company called Rogue One Film.

It needs to make some significant changes to the original draft script, make a few more scenes for a major character, and possibly tweak the script for the future.
That’s where the big money is, Iger says.
The new movie is going to have to make an investment in the visual effects department to make sure that we have the best possible visual effects in the first draft of the film, he says.
There will be a new trailer to be released, but it will be shot on a much higher-end film camera than the one that we’re shooting on, Igers says.
Rogue one also has to make the big changes to how it is going into the theater, including the location, the lighting and the set design.
And Iger stresses that the filmmakers will do what they can to ensure that the movie has a great experience for all of its fans, but also for the audience that has seen the first films.
The movie will be made entirely in post-production, and that’s going be done through the post-tour package, he said.
The film will have some CGI in it, and Iger admits that there is a bit of CGI in there that is going through post-processing, but he says that there are no significant visual effects changes.
The final cut will be released in theaters the following week.
In the first “Star War” film, “Return of the Jedi,” Disney released a cut of the first cut, which was more than seven years old, for free.
This time, it will cost $120 million to make and $150 million to produce, but Iger said that it will have the same quality.
The production team that worked on “Return” will be back for “The First Jedi,” Iger added.
“If the first movie was good enough for George Lucas, this will be even better.”
Iger was joined on stage by director Gareth Edwards, writer-director J.J. Abrams, producer Kathleen Kennedy, and producer Brad Bird.
